Southpaw Design provides efficient, low-cost web hosting and design that caters to small to mid-sized business. Two things that facilitate development speed and cost effectiveness are taking advantage of professionally designed templates and leveraging open source development. In particular, low cost web stores can be set up using the free osCommerce software! While the default configuration of this free software isn't pretty, it has necessary functionality such as product catalogs, shipping and payment modules, email notification, web-based admin panel, etc. Southpaw uses this software as a foundation and then customizes it to the clients business. The client pays only for the customization and population of their store, a lot less expensive then having a store developed from scratch or purchasing a software package. osCommerce is built using the PHP programming language and mySQL as it's back end database - two other open source initiatives. This means that hosting an osCommerce store is really inexpensive -- as little as $3 per month: www.1and1.com/ Southpaw Design also offers other website work as well as print design and production. Please note that Southpaw is more "production" oriented - not 'cutting edge creative/ad agency' oriented.
